SHIPPO

Typeface DesignShippo is a grid-based and mono-spaced typeface, inspired by a traditional Japanese pattern known as “shippo”, meaning seven treasures in Japanese. It is a pattern inspired by the seven treasures described in Buddhist scriptures. These treasures include gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, agate, coral, and white seashells. The shippo pattern typically consists of a geometric fashion, creating a harmonious and intricate design. The circles symbolize the treasures and are arranged to represent unity, continuity, and the perpetual cycle of life. This pattern also indicates that human relationships and connections are as valuable as “seven treasures”.
